Auction Time!

I am going foward with an auction with all proceeds going towards Kory's adoption fund. I have been blessed with amazing friends through Reece's Rainbow. They are advocating for other children needing forever families just like Kory. Some have even generously donated precious time and talent, and for them and their encouragement I am grateful.
Seeing as this is the first time I have done such a thing I did a little research into what others are doing and how to get the best traffic. I decided on hosting the auction on facebook. I have more friends on facebook versus my blog, plus I am still somewhat new to blogging and it would be easier for me to upload photos and maintain everthing on facebook.
So ... here are the rules.
Items will be uploaded and go live on Dec. 1st. Each item will have a min. bid. All bids will need to be in dollar increments. The auction will last until the 8th and you will have until the 10th to pay for your item. At that time I will ask that the amount you bid for the item or items be deposited into Kory's adoption fund. If you donate $35 dollars or more you will also be gifted a Christmas ornament with Kory's picture on it!
I hope this goes well :) With His Grace and the knowing that I am a vessel for a greater good my strength is renewed, even on days like today when the extra cup of coffee turned into four!
Blessings & A Merry Christmas

A Running Start

I am beyond happy to report that $135 have been added to Kory's adoption fund via Angel Tree donations! Thank you friends, family and strangers that have heard the calling for this little ones ransom. I am brainstorming fundraising ideas. With me at the doctors alot I will see what I can accomplish. I am ever grateful for the donations, but even more so that we are getting the word out that Kory needs a forever family. Feel free to repost my blog or his link from Reece's Rainbow. His family is out there!

Christmas Warrior

I have been chosen to be Kory's Christmas Warrior this year. Kory is a sweet little boy living in an orphanage in Eastern Europe. Kory is very close to my heart. He reminds me alot of my little G. In being Kory's Christmas Warrior I am hoping to raise $1000 toward his adoption fund. If you cannot donate please spread the word about Kory and other children with Down syndrome or other special needs awaiting their forever family in an orphanage or an institution all over the world. If your heart is so inclined a donation of $35 will gift you an ornament for your Christmas tree!

Pumpkin Patch Day

After we picked up G from school we were off to the pumpkin patch. This one was pretty cool as it had a mini farm with chickens and bunnies, pigs and weaner pigs. All which the kids enjoyed with thier eyes seeing as there wasn't a hand washing station in site .. ew! As we scoured the patch for the perfect pumpkins my hubby tells me this is his first time at a real pumpkin patch. I guess all those other times he was working .. I was so glad he was there this time though. We had a nice relaxing afternoon and we were rewarded with perfect pumpkins which shall be cleaned and carved after school tomarrow!

Josiah

This is Josiah. The little boy I spoke of in my last post.
My heart is broken wide open. But this post is not about me. It's about a little boy not much older than my own who has been sent to live in an institution. I don't want to imagine the horrors he expieriances, but I do. I pray for him when I wake up, that is when it starts getting dark on his side of the world. I ask God to help him dream of a wonderful place and I pray that he won't be so afraid when he wakes from his dreams to the reality he doesn't deserve. I pray that his mama finds him before it is too late an he succombs to his enviornment and it breaks his fragile spirit. I pray for someone around him to notice he is afraid and tell himthat someday it will be ok .. and I pray that someday It Will. I would be his mama in a heartbeat. I truely mean this. We are not able to adopt internationally. This too breaks my heart. God knows I am willing and ready. So, I pray for a miracle. Little Josiah is lost .. Please look at him and ask yourself "Is this my son?"

Doing Our Part

It is the start of Fall, my favorite season. So many great things happen around this time of the year. Leaves start falling, mornings become crisp and we get back into the routine that we become acustom to nine months out of the year. I truely love getting back into our school groove. This time of the year is when we as a family gear up for our annual Buddy Walk. Actually, this year I am running a bit behind. By now I would have already registered and and had our first giving page up and running. I did this all today. Which gives us exactly 15 days to raise for Team Grayson! Please come join us or give to Team Grayson via our first giving page. I also have raffle tickets. Top prizes include a trip for a family of four to Great Wolf Lodge! We hope to see you Oct 2nd at the Seattle Center to show your love for Team Grayson!

Get On The Good Foot

I have been meaning to write it all down, aside from the penned letters tucked into baby books and bedside tables. Finding time has always been difficult. With two littles at my knees it's a wonder we get anything accomplished.
Our journey starts here. Stop by once in a while to see what we are up to!
